Choosing the Best Violin Humidifier

Playing the violin is my treat for myself whenever I need a break. During times when I feel that my problems are already mounting or that it has already reached a level that is too much for me to handle, I just bring out my violin and play myself some nice music. And it is quite effective as well, as each passing moment that I play relieves my troubles and worries until I feel much better and everything seems right with the world once again. The soft, classy music that I hear myself playing, coupled with the physical act of using the violin and the bow is enough to make me forget everything that makes me feel bad or negative.

Since my violin is able to provide me with such much needed relief, I certainly value it very highly. I take good care of it as I would anything that provides me with such great joy and relief and troubles. In order to make sure that it is in the best possible shape, I try to clean and maintain it as often as possible. Part of taking care of my violin is making sure that it is properly humidified and that it does not suffer from the effects of dry air. The effect of dry air or the lack of proper humidity causes the violin to dry out and eventually form crack along its seams. It can be pretty costly to have those cracks fixed, so the humidifier can definitely help.

Humidifiers That I Use

In the past, when I first had a humidifier, I was not aware of humidifiers and such things. But researching about the violin and taking care of it allowed me to discover all about it before I actually had to deal with the problems that are brought about by too much exposure to dry air. The knowledge that I acquired was instrumental why my violin is still in excellent shape. Being knowledgeable prepared me for everything and I was able to buy a couple of humidifiers in preparation. Here are the humidifiers that I use and each has proven to be quite effective and if I am asked what I consider to be the best violin humidifier, these are what I would mention.

• Dampit Violin Humidifier – Truly one of the best violin humidifiers around, make sure your instrument is protected by using this humidifier. It is so easy to use, simply soak the humidifier in water and insert in the violin. A humidity indicator card is included to help in monitoring the humidity in the case. Costs about $10.00.

• Carlo Robelli Violin and Viola Humidifier – Definitely one of the best as well, this Carlo Robelli humidifier can be used for both a violin and a viola, making it a versatile as well as necessary part of caring for the violin. Buy this one for about $14.00.
