Here’s How to Play the Violin for Kids

We are not a family of musicians. There has also been no history of any member of the family being affiliated with music at any time, which is quite solid proof that we are truly not inclined to it. That does not mean however that we do not know how to appreciate music, especially beautiful music. That we know how to do and we are great admirers of it, almost every member of the family. Of being musical fans, we can be counted upon and that is a fact that will not change, ever. It is like something that is etched in stone for us.

Change is on the horizon, though. And it is coming courtesy of the younger generation, as my kids have requested that they be allowed to enter classes to learn how to play the violin. Now that came as a genuine surprise for me and most other members of the family. Especially since no one has really attempted something like that in recent memory. Some have attempted simpler things like learning the guitar by themselves, but formal lessons or anything of the sort, is simply unheard of. Although our kids with also strive learning by themselves some of the time, which we believe would accelerate their learning process.

Kids Playing Violin

How to play the violin for kids is an option that has long been available, particularly since there are many competent instructors out there who are able to teach the kids the rudiments of playing the instrument. And before any instructor will actually be involved, the first step would be choosing a violin that would be used by the kids. In fact, it is included in the so-called five basic steps on how a child should be taught how to play the violin. The following are the five steps:

• The first one, like I have mentioned earlier, is making the right choice about the instrument. Of course, when making a choice, quality should come first before any other basis. Right after that, the size should also be given its due importance.

• Next would be tuning the violin, which is something that the instructor would have to teach properly to the kids.

• How to properly handle the violin and the vow, which are very basic components of playing the instrument properly.

• The actual process of teaching the kids how to produce the ideal sound from the violin, which will then lead them to become better violinists.
• Making the sessions as light, fun, and enjoyable as possible. Making that happen would accelerate the learning process and also make the kids want to continue with their playing and training more.
