To become an exceptional musician is one of my biggest dreams. Making myself the absolute master of one of those musical instruments that many different musicians are so good at playing will certainly make me very happy, and make my life seem really accomplished when it comes to the arts. Long have I dabbled in the arts such as painting and even some writing, although I am primarily known as a visual artist. Being a painter was what I actually trained for, so it is easy to see why things were like that. Now if I can add being a musician to that, it would really be something else. And I am definitely ready to make a serious run at it and be acknowledged as an established musician myself.
My musical instrument of choice is the violin. It just represents everything that is great in a musical instrument, for me at least. Perhaps it’s because I find it to be real classy and that it has always been that way ever since I was a kid. That might be my main reason for it, but anyway that’s what I decided upon, and I am really bent on mastering the violin and then being able to play some classical tunes on the instrument. Now the only thing left is for me to be able to find a truly competent instructor, and I’ll be ready to go. And of course I also need to learn about the cost of the lessons.
Cost of Violin Lessons
So how much do violin lessons cost? It was a question that needed to be asked very much because I need to make some financial preparations aside from making myself ready as far as my mindset and my physical preparation is concerned. My research yielded the following facts:
• Choosing to have private lessons with a violin instructor will set me back about $15 to $35 for an hour, although that value could easily balloon to $40 or up to $100 if I want to be trained by an instructor who has special qualifications. This means that the instructor has been able to play in well known and respected orchestras or someone who has an advanced degree on music and violin playing. The duration can be anywhere from half an hour to a full hour, depending on the arrangement that can be made with the instructor.
• Younger people who would like to learn how to play the violin will mostly be involved in group lessons, which can cost about $20 to $45 a month. This might be done in addition to or totally independent from private lessons.
• Another viable option would be to undergo training with the help of instructional DVD’s or CD’s, which cost around $30 to $80. And for those who are always online, violin playing lessons are now also offered through the Internet, costing about $30 to $200, or maybe even more.
