Hey there. Michael Mallory here and I want to talk to you about how to teach yourself violin. It’s not as hard as you think. I mean for sure there is a learning curve just like anything, but I’ve been playing violin now for a little over a year and in the last few months I’ve really increased my skill set astronomically by taking a course on teaching yourself violin.
At first, for like 6 or so months I was taking lessons from a teacher and that was helpful for the fundamentals, but I found to learn the violin at a faster pace I needed something more, and I figured maybe I could teach myself violin. So I got hold of this teach yourself violin course and in the last few months I’ve come along much quicker than I had when I was learning violin with my teacher.
Now, I still take a lesson every couple of weeks with my teacher and she’s very impressed with how quickly I’m improving. She keeps asking me how I’m doing it, and I don’t have the heart to tell her it’s thanks to this online teach yourself violin course that I bought. So I tell her I’m just practicing really hard. Which is true too.
So can you teach yourself violin from the comfort of your own home, I’d have to say a definite yes. My dad’s doing it and he doesn’t have a teacher, though I suppose he does have me, although I’m no Yanni… yet!
Learning violin doesn’t have to be as hard as some people think it is, I’ve been playing violin for over a year and I figure I could hold my own in an Irish pub. I certainly couldn’t play first violin, let alone backup violin for an orchestra but then that’s not my goal.
I wanted to learn how to play violin so that I could remember my grandad ‘cos he used to play all this upbeat Irish fiddle songs at family gatherings. And those are some of the best memories I have. And I want to honor him and carry on that family tradition. Click here for one of the best online programs to learn violin.
So if you have a teacher that’s awesome but you can also teach yourself violin at the same time too as I’m learning to do. I figure that by Christmas with everything I’m learning in this teach yourself violin course, that I’ll be able to play a dozen of our favorite Celtic tunes for my family. I can’t wait, it’s going to be a great time.
Cheers,
Michael
