Violin Amplifier Information

“A table, a chair, a bowl of fruit and a violin; what else does a man need to be happy?” That is how Albert Einstein have put it and he could not have been more insightful. Playing violin can be the most rewarding thing in the world. It elevates the human soul to a level that can never be reached when undertaking other pursuits. Just like with other instruments there are certain levels in playing the violin. You can just play it in the privacy of your own home, you can play with some friends and other musicians, or you can play it professionally. When you reach the point of becoming a professional violinist you need to think of getting a good violin amplifier. While a good violin would be enough when you are just playing privately of with friends it becomes a different matter when you will be playing for scores or hundreds of people in a live performance. You have to ensure that you have a very good amplifier that will pick up the sound and deliver it to your audience.

But a good violin amplifier is just one component in delivering your music to a larger audience. There are several components that you need to pay attention to.

1.The first component is called the transducer, which comprises mainly of microphones and pickups. The transducer is the device responsible for picking up the sound energy generated by the violin and converting it into electrical signals which can then be used by other devices for modifications and amplifications.

2. Modifiers of signals are the components that may tweak the signals a little bit either to enhance or change the quality altogether. Devices like preamps, reverbs and sound processing devices fall into this category.

3. The task of an amplifier is to strengthen the signal to a level where it could be picked up by output devices like speakers and headphones and then to convert them to sound energy. A good violin amplifier should not distort the signal that it receives in any way. You have to pick an amp with a natural sounding tone to it. Here are some of the things that you need to look for when choosing an amp:

- Pick an amp with two input channels so you can maximize its use. When you are playing with a friend you can both plug in your instruments at the same time if you have two inputs.

-If you would like to get a really loud volume then pick an amp with speakers that are wide and large. The volume that you will get is largely determined by the speaker size that you will be using.

- If you will be using the amplifier for cello or bass playing hen you need to get an amplifier equipped with at least a ten inch speaker. That would be the minimum size that could replicate all the bass frequencies.

- Look for one with battery power so you could play it on the street.
